We acknowledge that pledging your services you are generously donating your time, skills and efforts.
Building Angels will contact you regarding your pledged services based on your location and skill set with details of the location of the project, the scope works, the programme and the any deadlines relating to the works to be undertaken. You will nominate whether you are available to undertake the works ordecline from undertaking the works based on your current level of work commitments at that time.
As a volunteer you have rights but a volunteer environment is still a workplace, and as such, you have certain responsibilities that must be upheld.
· Your role and scope of works is clear and specific
· The organisation can provide you with written information about its purpose and activities
· Respect confidentiality and privacy
· Under take a police check if it is deemed necessary
· Be punctual and reliable
· Carry out the duties listed in your scope of works
· Be accountable and seek clarification for anything you are unsure of
· Give notice if your availability changes or you are leaving the organisation
· Report any injuries or hazards that you notice in the workplace
· Maintain your own Workers Compensation Policy and Contract Works insurance
· Adhere to the organisation's policies and procedures
· Ask for support when needed
· Pledge your services free of charge and agree to absorb the cost of any out of pocket expenses incurred in terms of getting to the site, tools required to undertake the works and any other incidentals used in pledging your services.
· To work in a healthy and safe environment (refer to your State's Work Health and Safety Act[s]);
· Not to fill a position previously held by a paid worker;
· Not to do the work of paid staff during industrial disputes;
· You are qualified in your trade
· You carry the necessary Workers Compensation and Contractors Work insurance
Donations to Building Angels of $2 and over may be tax deductible. This will be identified in the relevant appeal details online or by calling 1800 0ANGEL (026435), and will also appear on your tax receipt. Ongoing monthly donations are tax deductible and will be receipted at the end of the financial year.
Disputes and refunds
All complaints, grievances and disputes will be treated seriously, quickly and in a timely manner, having due regard to procedural fairness and confidentiality. All parties are required to participate in the dispute resolution process in good faith. If you believe that there has been an error with your donation, you should notify us directly on 1800 0 ANGEL (026 435) and confirm that notice in writing or by email at email@example.com as soon as possible so that we can resolve your query quickly. Any issues should be directed to Building Angels in the first instance so that we can attempt to resolve the matter. If you are not satisfied with the outcome you can still refer it to your financial institution which will obtain details of the disputed transaction and may lodge a claim on your behalf.
Please note we have yet to implement this option.
It is your responsibility to ensure that there are sufficient clear funds available in your account. You should check your account statement to verify that the amounts debited from your account are correct.
Changes and cancellations
We may vary details of your agreement or a direct debit request at any time by giving you at least 14 days written notice.
If you wish to cancel, defer or alter a debit payment you must notify us by calling 1800 0 ANGEL (026435) at least 30 days before the next donation day.
Please provide details of your donation agreement, such as name,address, and supporter number, etc, for ease of processing.
